Major renovation works completed at Khachmaz railway station’s historic building

"Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC has successfully completed the restoration of the 124-year-old Khachmaz Railway Station building. Complex renovation measures were carried out at the structure, which is protected by the Ministry of Culture as a local architectural monument of significance. Taking the building’s historical artistic features fully into account, the original appearance of the facility was carefully preserved. As a result of the work carried out, the long-term durability of the historic monument was ensured and passenger service conditions were improved.
Postxronika.az reports with reference to Azerbaijan Railways that the renovated station building has been put into operation after being adapted to modern infrastructure. During the restoration process, special attention was paid to maintaining the national architectural style and preventing damage to historical details. Located at a strategic transport hub, the facility will serve to improve the quality of regional passenger transportation. The building’s interior and exterior elements were restored in line with the original design.
Within the framework of modernizing transport infrastructure, the restoration of historic buildings is of particular importance.
