An inclusivity and equality conference held in Baku for water sports

In Baku, a conference dedicated to the principles of diversity, equality, inclusion and integrity was organized as part of the Congress of the European Aquatics Federation ("European Aquatics").
Postxronika.az reports that at the event titled “Waves of Change – DEI & I,” representatives of national federations, international experts and members of the sports community took part, discussing issues related to creating a safe sports environment, protecting athletes’ rights and ensuring equal opportunities.
At the conference, addresses were delivered by the President of the European Aquatics Federation, Antonio Silva, the Secretary General Noam Tsvi, Bureau member Graeme Marchbank, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation Jalə Əhmədova, and Secretary General Oqtay Atayev.
The speeches highlighted efforts to combat discrimination, transparent governance, athletes’ well-being and the promotion of inclusion, emphasizing the universal values of sport that bring people together.
In the next part of the event, representatives of the swimming federations of the Czech Republic, Sweden, Spain and the United Kingdom shared their experiences in this field.
