Veronika Jilina wins 6th place at the “Denis Ten Memorial” tournament

Our athlete Veronika Jilina, who represented Azerbaijan at an international figure skating tournament from October 7 to 11, competed in the “Denis Ten Memorial” in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Based on her successful performances in the short and free programs, she totaled 125.68 points overall. With this result, our compatriot finished 6th among 19 strong athletes.
Postxronika.az reports, citing the Press Service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, that the result shown at the international tournament once again proves our athlete’s potential for future competitions. Gaining experience at a prestigious event, our figure skater will continue her fight for higher places in the next stages. Experts consider the young athlete’s performance an important step toward experience for the international arena.
In our country, purposeful work is being carried out to develop winter sports and to raise new talent in this field. Every local success achieved at international tournaments further boosts young athletes’ interest in this discipline. Members of our national figure skating team are continuing with determination their preparations for upcoming competitions.
