The second meeting of the Joint Military Cooperation Committee between the defense ministries of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates took place. Elchin Abdullayev, head of the International Military Cooperation Department, met with a UAE delegation led by Brigadier General Jamal Ebrahim Mohamed Almarzooq. The parties highlighted the importance of exchanging experience between the armed forces and discussed in depth the prospects for developing existing ties.
Postxronika.az reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, that at the end of the event a Protocol on the meeting between the defense ministries of the two countries and a “Roadmap” covering the years 2027–2029 were signed. These documents raise strategic partnership in the defense sphere and the security dialogue between the two partner states to a higher level. The signed arrangements lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation in the defense industry and military education.
The strengthening of military partnership between the two countries serves to bolster regional stability and the security system. Strategic planning in the defense field will make it possible to carry out joint projects and exercises more effectively. Such high-level meetings further deepen Azerbaijan’s military-diplomatic ties with Arab countries.
