Virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 360-degree tours and artificial intelligence technologies are planned for use in Azerbaijan’s museums in order to enrich visitors’ experiences.
Postxronika.az reports that this was stated by Fuad Magsudov, head of the Culture Ministry’s Creative Industries and Digital Development Department.
According to him, in the coming years modern digital solutions will be used to expand opportunities for presenting cultural heritage in museums, galleries and exhibitions. For this purpose, international experience is being studied, mechanisms for implementing technologies are being developed, and the necessary technical infrastructure is being established.
At the same time, the process of digitizing museum collections is also continuing. Within the framework of the “e-Culture” digital development strategy, work is underway to present exhibits in digital formats, systematize information about them, and combine it into a unified information resource.
It is also planned to equip exhibits displayed in museums, galleries and exhibitions with QR codes.
