More than 23 kilograms of narcotics found in Garadagh district

As a result of operational measures carried out by officers of the Garadagh District Police Department, M. Ahmadov and X. Huseynov, who were suspected of being involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, were detained. During the search, more than 23 kilograms of a potent narcotic substance was found on the suspects and seized. The detained individuals were immediately involved in the investigation.

Postxronika.az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, that investigations established that the suspects obtained the illegal substances from a foreign national with whom they had become acquainted via social media. It was also revealed that they planned to deliver those drugs to various addresses in order to sell them in the capital area. Under a criminal case instituted into the matter, the court has, by its decision, selected pre-trial detention as a preventive measure for the detained individuals.

Measures to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs are being pursued decisively by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Police officers are conducting intensified operational-search activities aimed at exposing illegal networks and preventing such criminal acts. Law enforcement authorities urge citizens to promptly inform the relevant agencies when they encounter such cases.
