Baku–Balakan–Baku train service resumes
RH
From November 20, the regular passenger transport service along the Baku–Balakan–Baku route will resume. The train will depart from the capital on November 20, and from Balakan on the following day for its first trip. Service on this direction was temporarily suspended due to the restoration of the railway line Qakh–Zagatala, which was damaged by a flood incident.
Postxronika.az reports, citing ADY, that the repair and construction works carried out in the area have already been fully completed. With the railway line being put back into operation, uninterrupted service along the route will be ensured from the specified dates. The decision made will allow passengers traveling to the north-western region to reach their destinations with greater convenience.
The restoration of interregional rail transport significantly improves residents’ travel opportunities and enhances traffic safety. Swift elimination of the consequences of a natural disaster minimizes the impact of damage to infrastructure. The operation of a modern and safe transport network makes an important contribution to the region’s socio-economic life and tourism potential.
