The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has issued a decision allowing Russian national ice hockey teams to take part in international competitions. The court overturned five decisions adopted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in this regard.
Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that this was stated by Russia’s sports minister, Mikhail Degtyarev, on his “Telegram” channel.
According to the minister, the CAS found the key demands of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation to be justified and ordered the IIHF to ensure the participation of Russian teams in the relevant tournaments.
It should be noted that Russian national ice hockey teams were also banned ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games to be held in Italy.
