Foreign nationals attempting to cross the state border have been detained

As part of efforts to ensure reliable protection of the state border and combat illegal migration, another operation has been carried out. Three Afghan citizens who attempted to illegally enter our country from Iran were detained within the service area of the “Lankaran” border detachment of the State Border Service. As a result of timely measures taken by border guards, the unannounced attempt by illegal migrants to cross the border was immediately prevented.

Postxronika.az Citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reports that, in accordance with the legislation, the necessary investigative and operational measures are continuing without interruption. It is being investigated for what purpose the detained persons wanted to enter the country and what alleged connections they may have. Additional control measures are being implemented at border security checkpoints in order to strengthen the security regime.
