Trump says he is eligible to run for president for a third time

U.S. President Donald Trump said he is eligible to run for president again, alleging that fraud occurred in the 2020 presidential election.

Postxronika.az reports, citing TASS, that Trump made the remarks during a rally in Iowa ahead of the midterm elections of the Republican Party.

He also acknowledged that legislation could prevent him from being elected president for a third time. The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, adopted in 1951, prohibits a president from being elected more than twice.

It should be noted that Trump’s current presidential term is expected to end in January 2029.
