Ordubad’s distinct character reflected in the film “The Abode of Paradise”

The premiere of the film “The Abode of Paradise” was held
On October 3, the premiere of the film “The Abode of Paradise,” which showcases the ancient history, rich cultural heritage and distinctive ethnographic features of Ordubad city, took place at the Nizami Cinema Center.
Officials, members of the public and representatives of the media, as well as the film’s creative team, attended the event organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Baku Regional Office of ICESCO, with information partnership from the “Real” Analysis Information Center.
Speaking at the event, Saadət Yusifova, Deputy Minister of Culture, said that the documentary-music-ethnographic film was produced within the relevant goals and objectives of the “Azerbaijani Culture – 2040” Concept, approved by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated January 14, 2026.
It was noted that the audiovisual work is aimed at introducing Azerbaijan’s natural, historical and ethno-cultural heritage in its regions in a visual format and at preserving national and spiritual values. The Ministry of Culture continues the production of new audiovisual works in this direction. A documentary film as well, which tells about the role of the Azıkh Cave in world history and the new research conducted there, will be presented to the public in the near future.
Honored journalist, director of the “Real” Analysis Information Center, Mir Şahin Ağayev, said that projects of this kind are of special importance for the protection of national and cultural values.
The film’s screenwriter, director and producer Kamran Qasımov said that the audiovisual work is devoted mainly to the ethnography of Ordubad and is the first film prepared in the documentary-music-ethnographic genre.
Following the speeches, the film’s creative team was invited on stage and the audiovisual work was screened.
It should be noted that within the framework of the “Journey to Azerbaijan’s Cultural Heritage” project implemented by the Ministry of Culture and the Azerbaijan Republic Film Agency, the film produced by the “Azernyumedia” company has Arif Zeynаlov as the director of the film’s visual design, Siyavuş Kərimi as composer and People’s Artist, while the advisors are Cəmil Quliyev, Honored Art Worker, and Mir Şahin Ağayev, Honored Journalist.
