Why is Karabakh being turned into Azerbaijan’s green energy hub?

Postxronika.az reports that, in the restoration of areas liberated from occupation, energy infrastructure is of particular importance.

Research into opportunities to use solar, wind and hydropower in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur will include a green component in the region’s future economic model.

The construction of new residential settlements and industrial facilities in these areas will also increase energy demand. The development of renewable energy sources could allow that demand to be met in an ecologically more sustainable way.

Minister of Energy Pərviz Şahbazov has repeatedly highlighted the importance of utilizing the green energy potential of the liberated areas.
