Why is Karabakh becoming Azerbaijan’s green energy hub?
AA
Postxronika.az reports that restoring the energy infrastructure in areas liberated from occupation is of particular importance.
Research into the potential for using solar, wind, and hydropower in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur will add a green component to the region’s future economic model.
The construction of new residential settlements and industrial facilities in these areas will also increase energy demand. Developing renewable energy sources could allow at least part of that demand to be met in a more environmentally sustainable manner.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has repeatedly highlighted the importance of harnessing the green energy potential of the liberated territories.
