Squads announced for the U23 World Championship

The U23 World Wrestling Championship will be held in Las Vegas, USA, from October 12 to 18. A total of 23 wrestlers will represent our country in the prestigious tournament in Greco-Roman, freestyle and women’s wrestling. On the first days of the competition, our Greco-Roman athletes will take to the mat, followed by the women, while the freestyle wrestlers will compete in the final stage.
Postxronika.az, citing the Wrestling Federation, reports that our national team will compete under the leadership of Nuredin Rejabov, Toğrul Asgerov and Cəbrayıl Hasanov, respectively, to secure spots on the podium. The bouts will begin at 21:30 (Baku time) in the day session, while the evening matches will start at 04:45. Among the international referees tasked with upholding justice at the tournament are also Bəşir İsazadə and Əli Babayev, who represent our country.
Of particular significance, this championship, in which the national team takes part with a strong squad, serves to enhance young athletes’ international experience. Our wrestlers, who are expected to complete their preparation at a high level, are anticipated to return from the tournament with a rich medal haul. The sports community and fans are placing great hopes in the successful performance of our representatives in matches across the ocean.
