Court delivers critical ruling for media: Trump's White House ban temporarily lifted
RH
The Washington District Court has ruled that the rights of three leading media outlets, which had been barred from entering the White House by order of US President Donald Trump, must be immediately restored. The court ordered that CNN, MSNBC and Politico be guaranteed access to the building for 14 days, declaring that the restrictions imposed violated constitutionally protected due process.
"Postxronika.az" reports, citing the BBC, that Judge Timothy Kelly rejected as unfounded the presidential administration's claims that these media outlets spread fake news and threaten national security. The ruling specifically emphasized that the White House had failed to provide sufficient evidence regarding the objectionable material, and that proper legal procedures were not followed when the ban on journalists was imposed.

While the White House has not yet officially responded to the ruling, it cannot be ruled out that lawyers representing the president will take further legal steps. Forty-nine media organizations, including Fox News, CBS and The New York Times, expressed solidarity with their colleagues, calling the ruling an important victory for press freedom and the rule of law.
